"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you;
and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
(Matthew 28:19-20 NNAS)

A targeted statewide effort to pray for the lost and to distribute Scripture

(for additional info & resources click here)

The key component is a 21 day period of praying and fasting with each believer praying
for the salvation of three lost people by name in their geographical region.  During the
21 days, believers will be challenged to read consecutively through the 21 chapters of
the Gospel of John (one chapter each day).  Fasting would be centered on giving up one
item that the believer feels he/she cannot live without. Secure copies of scripture by
ordering from the association office and distribute in bundles of 3 with the church’s
promotional piece to participants.

After the 21 days of prayer and fasting, each believer will deliver a marked edition of
John/Romans Scripture portion to the three unbelievers for whom he/she have been
praying for their salvation. Invite them to attend church and look for opportunities to
personally share the gospel. This marked edition will guide the unbeliever through the
plan of salvation.

Each church will include a card or brochure with the Scripture portion that will invite the
lost person to the church on Easter Sunday, the focus harvest time.

Special editions of the Scripture portion will be prepared for youth and children, as well.

Copies of the Marked Scripture portion with John/Romans will be available for
distribution in prisons, jails, nursing homes

The process will begin in 2010 with once again prayerwalking in the fall 2010 and spring
2011.  This will not only include praying down every street and road in Kentucky but also
targeted prayerwalking around schools, nursing homes, college campuses and prisons
and jails.

The cost would be $1.00 for church member participating  ([3] Job/Romans Scripture
portions for delivery by each participant to the three people they choose to pray for);
Scripture portions for distribution in jails, prisons, nursing homes, college campuses
could be provided by individuals, churches and/or the KBC (approximately 30¢ per
copy).

Churches must order the scripture portions from the local Baptist Association by
December 21, 2010. Determine number of “marked” Gospel of John/Romans your
church will need and place the order to the association office by December 21, 2010.
Don’t forget to order enough for mass distribution to nursing homes, assisted living
facilities, jails, prisons, Hispanics & Deaf.  (Order forms available on the KBC website)

(Appropriate Kentucky Baptist Convention personnel will order free marked scripture for
use on college campuses, for the deaf, and Hispanics.)
