Greetings!
We are emailing to make you aware of an amazing new opportunity for college students and young adults in your church to serve God overseas for a semester. This opportunity, entitled Hands On, is truly a new way for young people to experience what God is doing in the world and to explore if He is calling them to join Him there as a longer term missionary.
Participants in Hands On experiences receive mentoring and discipleship from the missionaries with whom they serve on the field. They serve on teams and receive an extensive orientation/training at the beginning of their service and a debriefing at the end.
Participants serve by assisting IMB missionaries with their strategy to reach the lost in their area. There are dozens of different kinds of opportunities for young people including meeting physical needs as a way to open the door to the Gospel, door-to-door evangelism, church planting, media creation, teaching English, or leading sports camps. There are also opportunities for computer programmers and others with special skills.
Cost: $2600 plus passport and immunizations. This price covers cost of airfare, housing, food, a medical insurance policy, visa application fees, and local transportation.
For 2008, all Hands On projects are in Africa and are 4-5 months long and roughly follow college school schedules. The next Hands On Africa term is August 1-December 15, 2008. The application for this term is due by April 1st.
Thanks to you and your church for your constant support of God’s work around the world. Please join us in challenging young people to step up and take the good news of Jesus Christ to everyone on the planet!
For more information, qualifications, and deadlines visit www.hands-on- africa.com or call 800-789-4693 option 1.
Hands On 2008 projects are available in Africa. Beginning January 2009, Hands On is going global.
